Pakistan has gone far far beyond this level of indivual solar instals for personal use, somewhere over 3 gigawatts, and in the absence of any regualatory anything, but still somehow helping to stabilise the grid, it's now irevocably entrenched and expanding very quickly. Hopefully the next phase will see a major switch to EV's and something can begin to change in what is some of the worst airpolution on the planet, as emmisions are regualated the same as PV and batteries, ie:with very occasional performative hand wringing.

Russia, and all of the countrys that have full time military ataches in there command structure are not interested in loosing this conflict, as it represents the future of security and military actions. Accepting a pause or temporary truce is meaningless as 'violations' have become the norm, and as financial and other restrictions remain while further offensive capacity is fielded, it only creates a false sense of security for there population, so they will fight now. The attack on the gas going to China from Siberia, is exactly that, and will prove to be a very serious misscalculation.

It is lose-lose situation for everybody.

Nobody in EU, USA or China is interested in Russia winning the war because that would embolden them to further expand east to Moldova and Baltics.

And nobody in EU, USA or China is interested in Russia losing the war because that could turn into fracturing of Russia and civil war inside Russia with nukes.

Putin got Russia into impossible situation which will end badly either way.

Actualy it already happened, everybody is dead, but the bad AI that killed everybody is trying to deleet the copys of everyone that the good AI uploaded into reality 2.0, which unfortunatly was an almost perfect copy of reality mk1 with no optional upgrades or new features.

I was introduced to the need for impedance matching early as young self selected audiophile. Later got more serious during school for audio engineering, but then as my interest in sound got more serios when it concerned guitar amplifiers and a variety of magic smoke, impedance miss matching, became and remains a thing for me. Add in a german copy of a fender bassman that allowed for 5 different input voltages ,two levels of gain not counting three frequency gain controls and switching between two different, non standard speaker impedance settings, and well, it's the tone that counts, and there is nothing like an amp doing it's utmost to fry everything, but built just strong enough to take it. 99% acoustic these days as the tonal control is so imediate, and just going for it involves less police, who I might add are useualy quite relaxed and good about it. My point is that impedance miss matching can lead to resonance, and that can be a good thing, orrrrr it can create too much heat and let the magic white smoke out.

People from India working in medicine in Canada, fly back to India for treatment, even though they are covered for care in Canada, citing long wait times and then time away from work here as longer and more costly than just getting on plane and going to a hospital, getting treated, and flying back, bieng less disruptive and costing less off work time.

My experience, is that melatonin is a realy fucked up drug it will strip your psyche and feed it back to you in one epic motherfucker of a dream but then seems to loose that quickly and not realy do anything at all, and is totaly pointless. Plus the harder I work physicaly, the better I sleep, eat, think, plan, strategise, and reafirm my capacity to deal with stuff. For people who dont do physical work, like my father, leading a very, very, disaplined orderly life, with lots of self care, and even when when things go wrong maintaining routine and habits, seems to be key.

I'll add that much of the 'content' is very carefully designed to be the canvas for the advertisements. ie: the content reaferms your demographic/cultural afinity and opens you up to suggestions that are attached even oblicquely, rather than persuing an interest of your own that actualy benifits you. By watching media alone instead of it bieng a group outing you give up even the real cultural reafermation of dragging or bieng drug along by friends where doing the thing together is of more interest than the media, unless on the rare occasion when you get to see something world class that you all take with you. These glowing slabs, aint that. Beware, Beware the glare.

I loath my smart car, but my truck was amenable to bieng hardware hacked, so I modified a 1/4" headset harness and built a phone shelf where the head unit was, and used a power amp with just an impidence matching input gain and a mic and answer button, and could be modified to work with essentialy any amplifier and speakers ever made. Zero extra sofware, tunes, calls. Back to my car, which is an abomination of choices made by people with a level of certitude into human preferance that I did not know existed, or is that what happens when engineering descisions are made by mutual apreciation clubs? It does not matter, my faith in technology has been destroyed, and as someone who can, will be building cars to suit myself. Picking bodys for realy comfy interiors and then grafting in an awd electric power train. I would just buy something, but touch screens for basic standard functions is something I find revolting, If there is a menue, that means one of two things, I am working on a computer or someone is going to bring me something yummy.

Peak oil, peak profits, peak stupidity.

These are the last gasps of the petro dollar.

Solar pv and batteries have already won the future as humanities main energy source.

Tar sand is going to be totaly abandoned as a fossil fuel even before coal.
Demand collapse for hydrocarbons has begun.

China has reduced oil consumption by 9% so far this year, CO² reductions are more, while there overall energy consumption has gone up.Many other countrys are following suit, and thats, that.

Guess what folks, you now have anti rights.Sometimes I hate America and some americans for the bad things they do, but not like that. A good deal of what america is doing to itself these days looks just as insane as what they are doing to other countrys, or at least other countrys that are not doing it to themselves. There used to be metaphors about poison, and wells, but no one imagined that is could or would leap past that, and become ledgislated policy.

The shitty thing for all humans is that many governments and voters l just do what America does because…murica, you can see every democracy teetering on the edge of the same idiocracy.

> A good deal of what america is doing to itself these days looks just as insane as what they are doing to other countrys, or at least other countrys that are not doing it to themselves.

America voted for unrestrained rabid turbocapitalism not just once but twice. They knew what MAGA and Project 2025 were about, both announced their intentions clear as day, and now they're getting unrestrained rabid turbocapitalism - a world where corporations can do whatever the hell they want and people either have no rights at all or the rights they have on paper are de facto meaningless.

I don't think it's fair to place all the blame on the MAGA and corporations but not on the American working class, which is the main beneficiary of the US government policy and which is electing those government.

It would be fair if American workers showed even a little compassion and compensated the rest of the world for all the damage caused by their government that they elected.

The situation where the median salary in the United States is 40 dollars while it is less than 50 CENTS elsewhere in the world is sheer madness.

Obviously, it's hard to make trillion‑dollar corporations pay, but fairness is required at ALL levels. Even people who get the minimum wage in the US have a huge fair share they have to pay to the rest of the world, where workers earn less than 50 cents an hour.

Nothing prevents you from taking a 90% tax from these Americans and distributing it to those who need the money the most. People are forced to do harmful and dangerous jobs for 50 cents an hour or less but people who elect the American government prefer to do nothing about it. Even more, they put all the blame on the corporations that are hard to act against, while pretending themselves to be a victims. It's sheer hypocrisy.

I'm sorry, but no, you're not victims, you're just as much exploiter as your corporations. An American worker earning 13 dollars an hour in terms of living standards is absurdly closer to Elon Musk than to a tantalum mine worker in the Congo who earns 22 cents an hour so that this American worker can buy a new iPhone and whine online on how some people think they crazy because they have mutilated their genitals or something.

Can’t really see how it can be reigned in and once it’s done with America it’s coming for everyone else. Australia with one nation and UK with reform for example.

My honest assessment is the tech bros felt threatened from potential regulation and decided to do use their platforms and influence to encourage more of the same destruction everywhere else. I cannot explain it any other way. Why would nearly all of them have backed the orange boy ?

> Can’t really see how it can be reigned in

By political revolution. The coming, inevitable AI bubble implosion and the resulting chaos will provide for it. We are already seeing the first signs with local anti datacenter movements.

I just feel that people are too comfortable for that now, we have so many distractions from "tech" itself that I cannot imagine people actually revolting.
